What to do if you DON'T get asked to a high school dance.

So I have a family rule that I wasn't allowed to go to a school dance until I turned 16. Turned out this family rule didn't really matter that much seeing how I wasn't asked to a single dance until my last year of high school, and it was the last dance I could have gone to and I ended up getting asked. You can see more of that in my last post.

BUT. Those few years of never ever (ever) getting asked to a school dance did kind of suck. And what's a girl to do when the night of the dance comes around and no one asked you?

One of the times I didn't get asked, my dad just took me out for fro-yo. And at first I was thinking, okay great, I'm going to see a bunch of people from my school all dressed up and on dates and I'm out getting ice cream with my dad. But I went with him and had a great time. So go out and treat yo self with a friend or a family member.

Something fun to do is just have a girl's night with your homies. Chill at someone's house. Stuff your faces, bring out magazines, nail polish, watch cheesy teen movies (personal suggestions: Sleepover, Aquamarine, A Cinderella Story, High School Musical), give each other ridiculous make overs, just have fun! Dances really are not all they're cracked up to be. They can be really fun but a lot of times I spent my time wishing I was just doing something fun with my girlfriends.

Now. For the ULTIMATE during dance activity. This is for the brave, the fearless, the yolo'ers, the girls who realize that high school will all be over soon and you might as well make lasting memories.
Here's a sneak peak of what I'm talking about.

That's rightttt ladies. You dress up in stalker outfits and you spy on the dances. Ridiculously fun. I'm not kidding when I say literally almost every high school dance was spent watching my friends get picked up and then following them around town and then parking outside the dance vicinity to watch the couples and groups file into the dance. The best is when you put together outfits like this and you feel invincible (and super creepy but you know). Designate a driver, travel around town to various dinner locations you'd expect people to be, watch them eat, laugh, talk, try super hard to impress their dates, etc. Then the best part is driving to the dance itself, ducking down into the backseat of the car, and watching all the handsome boys and pretty girls get out of their cars and go into the dance. It's so fun you guys. Judge us, I don't care, it was such a blast and I hope there will be dozens of awesome girls who will take this advice and roll with it.

Hope this inspires you to have an awesome and really enjoyable experience even if you don't get asked to a dance!
